  • Kelsey:

Shelters are pretty packed with beagles and beagle mixes because of their tendency to follow their noses and wander off. I don’t think you’ll have too much difficulty finding one. It might be a good idea to decide which "half" is more important, and focus your search that way.

http://www.petfinder.com is a good place to start. You’ll have to search for one breed or the other, but if there’s a mix, the mix will be noted in the description. You might have to be patient, but if you get in contact with local shelters or breed rescues, they can give you a call if one comes in.

  • marci knows best:

Check with both Cocker Spaniel and Beagle purebred rescue. It is an odd combination so it will be difficult as you already know.. Also watch smaller shelters and rescues in your area at PetFinder and PetHarbor.

  • bluebonnetgranny:

Check your local pounds & shelters. Cocker Spaniel rescues in your area.

Don’t expect to get one for free. Adoption fees are are around $100. Very cheap.

  • Ocimom:

Try Petfinder or craigslist in your area.

  • She is 5 months old.:

As a new owner of a 10 week old Cocker Spaniel Beagle mix,
You need heads up! (Had him since 7 weeks of age)

They are VERY needly dogs who get into alot of trouble. My dog has more of the Fathers side (who is an AKC Beagle and the Coloring of the Mom who is an AKC (Cocker Spaniel).
My puppy oliver loves to use his nose and it gets him into trouble. He is worse then my 5 month old.
I love oliver, he is alot of fun but alot of work. Do your research!!

I got my puppy on craigslist (Another BIG NO NO. He came infested with fleas). If would try a rescue first. Craigslist does not have to follow any rules or regultions.
Make sure you have plenty of time to spend with this dog, there alot of hard work.
